To form each one of the students with integrity through the joint work of families, teachers and other members of the educational community so that they can faces their lives successfully; educating them to develop human virtues with a Christian belief and with excellence in criteria.

OUR VISION

To be an institution where parents, teachers, board of directors and other members of the educational community form a solidly united, coordinated, professionally prepared and socially open team to accomplish our mission instilling in the students an active role in their formation process, that will enable them to be aware of their historic responsibility.

FACILITIES

We provide classrooms, laboratories, computer rooms, libraries and an auditorium ah complying with excellent and with oil technical and architectural requirements to achieve an optimum learning, following the standards demanded by the European Community in terms of function and comfort: lighting, acoustics and furniture which help to have a better concentration and performance in every pedagogic activity. Alt this is complemented with a modern infrastructure for physical development consisting of an indoor gymnasium, several sport courts and fields, and an environmental park (currently under construction).

LOCATION

Thanks to its strategic location on the eastern hills of Bogotá - the high area of the neighborhood of Usaquén- the school has many advantages: fresh air and meditative environment which offer, at the same time proximity, centrality and equidistance, thus preventing the discomfort caused by long distance rides.

ECOLOGY

At “Los Cerros” we have a special interest for issues and activities related to environmental protection, nature care, and development of an ecological awareness in our students and their families. Environmental groups, hikes, field trips and international exchanges to visit study and enjoy natural biodiversity are the components of a wide and varied environmental agenda.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAU REATE

As part of the agreement undersigned with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in Geneva, Switzerland, we created an academic program which, compared to the maximum officially required standards, offers a higher and more comprehensive education for oil our students.

BILINGUALISM

Our graduates are fluent in a second language. This allows them to see the world as a whole and at the same time be more competitive. We have chosen English because this language offers many opportunities and a wider coverage.

OUR EDUCATIONAL PRINCIPLES

To accomplish our mission and fulfill our vision the academic activities are kept within the following educational principles:

Personal Education: Students are the priority. Each one of them is educated as a unique human being, for which they have a private tutor who helps them in their personal development.

Integral Education: We encourage and develop in our students physical, cognitive, emotional, psychological, ethical and aesthetic potentials that lead to a harmonious development of personality.

High Academic Level: Trough a stimulating program we pursue academic excellence, the acquisition and projection of knowledge and science, as well as an intellectual maturity and the ability to think through the various processes of learning.

Religious Education: The doctrinal-religious education is especially important, and following the Teaching of the Catholic Church, it will lead the student to live an authentic Christian life respecting all freedom of consciousness.

International Nature: The student must be open to the world and for this reason they must acquire a broad culture and speak a foreign language fluently, supported by the contents of the IB (International Baccalaureate) program.

Educating Leaders: We seek to educate students within a series of human values: freedom, responsibility, solidarity, friendship, optimist, etc. that enable them to become the leaders that are needed in our present-day society.

Development of Creativity: This is achieved by incorporating in our syllabus a variety of cultural, artistic and recreational activities.

Creativity Technology: The school must be up-to-date all new technologies and educational programs to have a permanently innovative character.

Education for Life: We include in the syllabus the study of our culture, social problems, nature, and an overview of the national and international current situation. Education cannot only stay inside the classroom; students must be open to the world so that they can make it better.

Family-School combination: Families and school work together in educating the students because we acknowledge parents as the first and most important educators of their children.

Family education for our families:

Being aware of the importance of families in the educational process, and also to consolidate in the best possible way the triad Family-School-Student, we offer a Degree in Parenthood and a permanent program in Family Education: To learn how to be a good parent, one must study.
